Public Schools Work – Chenita “Nikki” Redmond

My 8th grade year at Memorial Park Middle School, after I participated in a classroom debate, Mr. Kirby Volz suggested I join the Speech Team to compete in the Discussion category. I listened to his advice; I was on the Speech Team at Memorial Park and at South Side High School. Participating in discussions meant doing research, being able articulate my points and persuading the other participants to agree with my point of view.

I believe that time on the Speech Team was part of what developed me into the independent person I am today. In my position at my work, I do not mind trying to find better ways to streamline the process. I am always willing, when able, to provide constructive suggestions and feedback. - Chenita “Nikki” Redmond
